The Season of Lent is the 40 day period of the Christian liturgical year leading up to Easter, and which many of us observe as a period of prayer, fasting and/or giving something up.
Epiphany is a period of time in which the church reflects on the manifestation of Christ to all people. It commences with the Baptism of Jesus and concludes with the Transfiguration.
During Advent we await and prepare for the coming of the Christ child - new life, new hope - and the coming of the fullness of God's kingdom of justice, peace and the reconciliation of all creation. At this time, we can also reflect on what faithful anticipation of this kingdom might mean.
